2024 Toyota Vellfire breaks cover, offering ADAS

Toyota has now revealed most luxurious vehicle in its garage, the 2024 Vellfire. The upcoming Toyota Vellfire is closely related to the second-generation Lexus LM350h MPV, which offers a higher level of luxury. While the Lexus LM350h has already been introduced recently, the Toyota Vellfire will first be available for sale in Japan before expanding to other markets. Similar to the Lexus LM, the latest-generation Toyota Vellfire MPV has been completely redesigned. It is built on Toyota’s TNGA-K modular platform, resulting in a lighter vehicle compared to its predecessor. The boxy design of the Vellfire has been retained, and it is slightly longer than the previous model, measuring just under five meters.

The cab-forward layout contributes to a generous three-meter-long wheelbase, providing ample space for up to six occupants. Continuing its focus on passenger comfort, the new Vellfire prioritizes a pleasant ride experience, much like its predecessor. Noteworthy updates include a redesigned and more comfortable seating arrangement, along with an expansive overhead console that allows passengers to conveniently control various vehicle functions. The presence of multiple AC vents ensures effective air circulation, while the newly designed pull-down sun shades offer enhanced privacy and sun protection. Toyota has taken measures to minimize vibrations and enhance sound insulation in the new Vellfire.

As a result, passengers can expect reduced vibrations and a quieter cabin environment compared to the previous model. The dashboard has also undergone a significant transformation, featuring a cleaner and more streamlined design with fewer buttons. Most vehicle functions have been integrated into a large touchscreen display positioned at the center of the dashboard, offering a more intuitive and user-friendly interface. The new Vellfire offers two engine options to cater to different preferences. The first option is a turbocharged 2.4-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 275hp and 430Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a CVT gearbox, providing smooth and efficient power delivery.

The second powertrain choice is a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol-hybrid system. With a combined power output of 250hp, it offers a balance between performance and fuel efficiency. The hybrid powertrain is coupled with an e-CVT transmission, further enhancing its efficiency. In the Indian market, the outgoing Toyota Vellfire has enjoyed popularity and currently faces no direct competition. While Toyota has not made an official announcement, it is expected that the new Vellfire will be introduced in India in the coming year, offering customers a fresh and upgraded option in the luxury MPV segment.
