4X4, AWD, RWD, FWD EXPLAIN IN BRIEF
Now a days mostly every one is buying a SUV, wherever it is a full size or mid size. But SUV means 4X4, but very few people know the meaning of 4X4,RWD,FWD or AWD .
1) FWD ( front wheel drive) – In the vehicle we can fit the engine at (front , rear , middle) , but mostly in cars we got engine at front, that engine gives power to front 2 wheels, this means front wheels drive , In front wheel drive, some times there it maybe very difficult to handle the vehicle, because the front axle have to turn the vehicle and to move the vehicle and to stop the vehicle .
2) 4X4 – In the 4×4 vehicle, we gave the power to the both front and rear axle, to give the power we have to increase the mechanical parts like shaft , differential because of this the weight of vehicle increases and cause of this the fuel economy disturbers and the price increases. But this is second part, but in power outlets it doesn’t live behind, it literally goes anywhere in the world . In India we got Toyota fortuner , MG gloster, jeep compass , Mahindra Alturas G4 , Pajero sport, Mahindra Thar , Ford endeavour and many more. In 4X4 we can adjust the power delivery. That means there is one gear like throttle or in new generation there is a knob that, we can adjust the power delivery to the axels . This is the main difference between 4X4 and AWD
3) AWD (all wheel drive) – We all know that in 4X4, we can adjust the power delivery to the Axel . But in AWD, we can’t adjust the power delivery to the Axel . That means the vehicle gets all time AWD, there are some pros and cons . Because of all time AWD , the fuel economy disturbs but it can get better drivablity while cruising on road . In India we got AWD in Renualt duster , MG gloster , Hyundai Tuscon,mahindra XUV 500 etc .
4) RWD (rear wheels drive) – In FWD , power goes only for front axle, but in the RWD power goes to Rear axle. RWD uses mostly in sports car . When driving RWD there is lots of fun, because of the wheel spin. In India RWD uses in Toyota Innova crysta , some variants of Toyota fortuner also.
