Introduction-
Maruti unveiled its all new production Grand Vitara recently. This vehicle built on new platform and directly compete with Hyundai Creta. Maruti loaded this suv with lots of tech and important one is panoramic sunroof. We got a AWD in its top spec which is a optional with hybrid powertrain which is a first in the segment and one of the USP of Grand Vitara.

We published a detailed review on Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara , click here to read full article. Also published a comparison review between Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara, click here to read know who is better. Today we found out 5 reason why should you go for Grand Vitara in this wide segment.
1. Design
Big wheel arches and wider body structure is one of the main reason for attractive design of Grand Vitara. We got a bold front grill with Suzuki logo with a Moustache like fascia. There are split headlights with three pointed drl’s as well. The vehicle is standing on 17 inch diamond cut alloys with all wheel disc brakes.

We got a dual paint job with piano black finishing on the vehicle. Tailgate is quite similar to the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, thanks to that connecting taillights treatment which looks fab in this suv. We will see lots of cuts and sharp edges on the body which is a premium and cool thing in this Grand Vitara.

Personally I like the rear part or tailgate of the vehicle, infinity taillights and dual tone coloured bumper looks classy. Company crafted this suv very well and that’s why we got a eye catching design.
2. Hybrid Powertrain option
Maruti knocked the ball out of the park with offering us a Hybrid engine option in Grand Vitara which is a first in the segment. We have two engine options, first one is 1.5L NA petrol engine produces 103hp and 136.8Nm.

We can opt this engine with 5 speed manual or 6 speed TC. Maruti used this NA engine in almost every car. But now Maruti is offering us 1490cc 3 cylinder petrol motor produces 92.4hp with redlines at 5500Rpm and 122Nm with redlines at 4400 to 4800Rpm. And this 1.5L unit mated to a AC synchronous self charging battery pack. Overall power output is 115hp thanks to the 80.2hp produced from that battery pack. There are 4 modes – EV, Eco, Power, and Normal, with a best-in-class fuel efficiency of 27.97 km/l. This strong hybrid motor mated to a e-CVT gearbox.

Now no other company is offering us strong Hybrid system in this compact suv segment, but Maruti used that trump card and changed the game. Lots of people are struggling with low fuel economy in big suv’s but I think this Maruti’s strong hybrid system will definitely help them.
3. Ample amount of space
This Grand Vitara is 4345mm longer, 1795mm wider and 1645mm wider. Wheelbase is 2600mm and ground clearance makes the job done. The interior layout of Grand Vitara is completely changed and now we got a vertical touchscreen which is a 9 inch touchscreen and have latest features and tech.

Centre console is equipped with wireless charging pad, air conditioning controls, some usb’s and other vehicles controls. The steering wheel remains unchanged and we got a HUD placed below the front windshield and between drivers eyesight. We seen this HUD in Baleno and it shows plenty of information. The front seats are big enough and has supreme amount of comfort thanks to the seat ventilation and bigger wheels which toggle all the bumps and bad terrain.

Like that second row is quite spacious, we will see three height adjustable headrest and a centre armrest. The space is decent here and makes the job done. The seats can also recline down in 60:40 format to increase its boot space. The boot space is likely 430 litres and it is big enough. But Strong hybrid trim will missed out that big space,

thanks to the battery setup. Interior and switches quality improved definitely and we can feel that difference. Maruti crafted its cabin very well and feels sleek and luxurious at the same time. And yes big claps for panoramic sunroof which is one of the USP of Grand Vitara.
4. Tech loaded –
Maruti actually loaded this vehicle with tons of new age features, we got LED projector headlamps, keyless entry, front ventilated seats, heads up display, automatic climate control, air purifier, connected vehicle features, arkamys sound system, wireless charging pad,

360 degree parking camera, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, driving modes, cruise control, paddle shifters and many more. And in safety as well we will see 6 airbags, vehicle stability control, hill hold control and more.
5. Reliability
Maruti is manufacturing cars from 1983 and in this long journey every new car buyer is looking for Maruti car. And that’s why Maruti always stood at the first position in the car sales analysis. This car manufacturer basically known for low price range cars and higher resale value.

But this budget car manufacturer debut in premium cars with this Grand Vitara. Indian consumers will always choose trusted companies. And high fuel prices is the main cause for forty five thousand bookings of Grand Vitara. Kudos to Maruti Suzuki for this big Machine, this Grand Vitara is really capable and impressive suv with AWD option.
