Volkswagen Taigun, Well Packaged Budget SUV
In the compact suv segment we get lots of Korean and Indian options but now lots of companies entered in this segment like that Germans entered in the chat with their fresh Taigun compact suv. This suv is made on MQB A0IN platform which is widely used platform by Volkswagen nowadays, their cousin Skoda Kushaq also built on this platform.

Taigun measures 4221mm in length, 1760mm in width and 1612mm in height. It’s wheelbase is 2651mm which is similar to the kushaq. Under its hood we get two engine options- 1) 1.0 litre 3 cylinder TSI petrol engine produces 114bhp of power and 178Nm of torque, this petrol engine gets manual and automatic gearbox options.
2) 1.5 litre 4 cylinder TSI EVO motor produces 148bhp of power and 250Nm of torque, this engine also gets manual and automatic transmission options. So we are reviewing the GT plus trim which gets power from a 1.5 litre TSI Petrol motor that produces 148bhp of power with redlines at 5000RPM and 250Nm of torque with redlines at 1600RPM.
This engine mated with a 7 speed DSG gearbox, all 1.5 litres engine get Active Cylinder Technology which deactivates one cylinder when not in use and only run on three cylinder. The performance is crazy where you can easily go on triple digits and also make quick overtake at no time. The issue is that we don’t get Diesel engine in this VW where it’s Korean rivals offers it,
starting from the front we get chrome slated grill with big VW logo on there. Headlamps gets all led’s with fog lamps too, bumper is almost finished in chrome. Because this is the GT trim we get lots of chrome on vehicle,
this suv runs on 17 inch diamond cut alloy wheels with red colour brake callipers. On fenders we also get GT badging with chrome there too, Orvm comes with led indicators and electric adjust also. Door handles and window-line also finished in chrome. Because this is a GT trim it gets black coloured roof with silver roof rails and a electric sunroof.
Tailgate of the vehicle is bit spicy, led connecting taillights attracts you definitely. Bumper is finished in black with some amount of chrome and parking sensors on it. Boot space is same as the kushaq with 385 litres of space you can easily increase it by reclining the second row in 60:40 format.
Body of the vehicle gets lots of cuts and crises and shows real traditions of VW and Skoda. Compared to the Kushaq, Tiagun is very bulky and boxy car which is good and helps on bad roads. The interior of the vehicle is finished in dual tone scheme which is very similar to Kushaq,
only change is that infotainment place and side AC vents. The dashboard is neat and clean with some silver treatment there, in kushaq we get floating infotainment unit but in this VW we get integrated screen. Which is 10.25 inch and gets lots of new features and tech like wireless android auto and apple car play,
Gaana app, navigation, radio, audiobooks, vehicle settings and also the Volkswagen connect. Centre console is very identical to kushaq, Taigun comes with touch sensible climate control with wireless charging pad and leather finished gear liver. Steering wheel is flat bottom, which gets mounted controls and paddle shifters.
That switches operate that 10 inch digital cockpit which gets speedometer, tachometer, TPMS, driving settings and more. Front seats feels very comfortable and also gets ventilation function. Like that second row gets ample amount of space with two adjustable headrest also, three people can be a tight fit but two people can seat comfortably.
To feel the cabine airy and roomy we get rear AC vents and electric sunroof. In this Volkswagen Taigun we get lots of new age features like ambient lighting, electric sunroof, wireless android auto and apple car play, digital cockpit, paddle shifters, wireless charging pad, ventilated seats, rear AC vents,

The safety tech in this VW is awesome, we get 6 airbags, ABS and EBD, brake assist, electronic stability program, hill hold control, traction control, TPMS, isofix child seat anchor point, speed alerts,
reverse parking camera with parking sensors, multi collision braking and more. In the GT trim we get some additional cosmetic changes like chrome grill with GT badging,
