Kia sonet, pocket friendly mini seltos
Last year Kia motors debut in India with there compact suv Seltos, after this big victory Kia recently launched its sub4 meter compact suv SONET. This segment
is very crowded with lots of difference in features and also in price range. Recently Kia makes an update on it with some added features like paddle shifters, new Kia logo ,
rear sunshades, voice command and many more. Coming to the Sonet, it gets 25 variants with lots of transmission options – manual, Torque converter, DCT, IMT. Under the hood it gets 3 engine options – 1.0 litre petrol engine, 1.2 litre Petrol engine , 1.5 litre Diesel engine with
redlines at 3000 to 3500 RPM, Kia claimed that Sonet gets dual digit numbers average at all engine and gearbox options . At front we get glossy black grill with lots of chrome in front bumper with all led headlamps
and projector fog lamps, over the front grill we get new Kia logo with front parking sensors . At rear Sonet gets heartbeat led brake lights, halogen indicators , nicely camouflage reverse parking camera with parking sensors ,
fake exhaust, high mounted stop lamps with rear wiper washer with also defogger. It’s length, width and height are following respectively – 3995 mm, 1790 mm , 1642 mm . The dimensions of Sonet are like as their rivals, but what Sonet makes out of the box is that 16 inch dual tone alloy
wheels, 395 litres of boot space which is class leading, shark fin antenna, chrome door handles, glossy black finish on all the vehicle. Inside the Sonet we get dual tone interior options with leather seats ,
sometimes flat bottom steering wheel, dashboard, infotainment system remember you Seltos. In the centre console we get 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system with android auto and apple car play below the infotainment system
we get automatic climate control with wireless charging pad and cooling function, also we get air purifier with centre armrest. Elephant on the room is we get digital instrument cluster with analogue rpm meter
and fuel indicators. We get many features and tech like rear AC vents, 8 speakers boss sound system , engine start / stop button , front ventilated seats , ambient lighting , paddle shifters , automatic
headlamps, height adjustable driver seat, voice command , driving modes ( Eco , Sport , Normal ) , traction modes ( Snow , Mud , Sand ) and many more . In safety Sonet didn’t get behind it got 6 airbags, ABS , EBD , electronic stability control ,
rear parking camera with front and rear parking sensors. Tire pressure monitoring system ( TPMS ), driver rear view monitor ( DRVM ) , electrically adjustable IRVM and more. This is a Kia so we definitely get connected car features, Sonet gets Kia’s UVO which connects the car through phone and gets many tech like geo fencing , lock/unlock through mobile app , voice command ,
sunroof opening and closing via app, remote engine start stop with AC control , vehicle information , driving data , navigation , service information , vehicle settings and 58+ more features . At rear we get ample space for headroom and legroom also with a twin cup holders and USB charging port , bottle holders ,
parcels tray and now also with a sunshades. This sub 4 metres compact suv gets 11 colours with dual tone exterior options.

This suv prices from 6.79 lakhs to 13.35 lakhs ( ex-showroom ), this Sonet will go up against Maruti Suzuki vitara breeza, Renault kiger, Ford eco sport, Hyundai venue , Mahindra xuv300, Toyota urban cruiser, Tata nexon .
But overall this is a good package with balanced features and tech with all the safety and a good price range , if you’re budget is above 15 lakhs then the seltos is the good option but if you are below than 15 lakhs takes that sibling of Seltos and makes Sonet yours .
