Hyundai has wraps off its new entry level suv in India, Exter launched in India with a starting price of Rs 6 Lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi). This is a introductory price of Exter, above vehicle is offered in seven trims with petrol and CNG powertrains and sits below the Venue mid-size SUV.
Hyundai Exter Exterior-
The Exter, being the brand’s entry-level SUV, showcases a distinctive design language referred to as ‘parametric-jewel’. This design can be observed on the front grille as well as the tailgate. Notably, the ‘Exter’ lettering is prominently displayed on the front, and the headlamp clusters are positioned on the bumper. The H-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) are positioned higher up and align with the bonnet, enhancing the SUV’s aesthetic appeal. With its upright stance, roof rails, squared wheel arches, and 15-inch alloy wheels, the Exter exudes a strong SUV presence. In terms of dimensions, the Exter measures 3,815mm in length, 1,710mm in width, and 1,631mm in height. Notably, it boasts a longer wheelbase of 2,450mm, surpassing its rivals.
Interior and Features of Hyundai Exter –
The cabin of the Exter shares similarities with the Aura and Nios, while also introducing some new elements. Notably, it features a digital instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch multi-information display (MID) that can be customized in 12 different languages. The interior sports a fully-black theme, complemented by a honeycomb pattern on the dashboard and contrasting highlights on the circular air conditioning vents.
In terms of features, the Exter offers an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, a dash-mounted camera, connected car technology, cruise control, and an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for seamless smartphone integration. Additionally, the Exter boasts several segment-first features such as footwell lighting, metal pedals, rear AC vents with a power outlet, paddle shifters, and an onboard navigation system.
Engine Specifications of Hyundai Exter –
The Exter is equipped with the reliable and proven 1.2-litre petrol engine, which is shared with other Hyundai models such as the Grand i10 Nios, Aura, and Venue. This engine delivers a power output of 82bhp and a torque of 114Nm. It can be paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) unit, providing options for different driving preferences.
In addition to the petrol variant, the Exter is also available with a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) option. The CNG variant features a manual gearbox, offering an alternative fuel option for increased efficiency and reduced emissions.
