- Mahindra Thar Five Door will be revealed in India on 15 August, 2024
- Thar 5 door will offer more features and tech than 3 door Thar
- Will be available in 4X2 and 4X4 options
- ADAS confirmed !
The eagerly awaited Mahindra Thar Armada 5 Door, has been leaked ahead of its official debut on August 15. The leaked images show the front and side profile up to the B-pillar, revealing a darker red shade quite similar to the 3 door suv.Â
Thar Armada – Highlights
The Mahindra Thar Armada appears more upscale than the three-door SUV, showcasing a dual-tone interior with beige and black colors. This suggests that Mahindra aims to position this SUV as a family vehicle, not just for off-roading.
As seen in previous spy shots, the new design features circular LED lights with C-shaped DRLs integrated into the assembly. Additionally, the fender-mounted indicators, fog lamps, and six-slat grille distinguish it from its three-door counterpart. The SUV will offer features like a 360-degree parking camera, powered front seats, a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, Level 2 ADAS, and a sunroof.
Thar Armada – Engine and Pricing
The Thar 5-door is expected to borrow its powertrain from the 3-door Thar. Currently, the 3-door Thar offers two engine options: a 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine, both available with manual and automatic transmissions. We anticipate that the Mahindra Thar Armada will feature these same powertrain options with the same transmission choices. Competing with the MG Hector Plus, Kia Carens, Hyundai Alcazar, and Tata Safari, the Thar 5-door has a unique advantage as none of these 3-row SUVs offer 4X4 options. The Thar Armada 5-door is expected to be priced between 21 lakhs and 30 lakhs (ex-showroom). The official world debut of the Mahindra Thar Armada is scheduled for August 15, 2024.
