Citroen India has revealed the prices for the Basalt, starting at an introductory Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The bookings have commenced with a token amount of Rs. 11,001, with this special price available until 31 October. The Citroen Basalt stands out in the midsize SUV segment due to its unique coupe-like design, highlighted by a sloping roofline. Its exterior features include a chrome-finished Citroen logo, sleek LED headlights, a two-part grille, and a silver skid plate at the front. The side profile mirrors the design sketches, showcasing squared wheel arches, body-colored door handles, and 17-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the Basalt is equally striking with halogen taillights, a dual-tone bumper in black and silver, and a black shark fin antenna.
Features – Citroen Basalt
Inside the Citroen Basalt, the dashboard carries over the design from the C3, but with several important upgrades. Now, it features a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system along with a 7-inch digital driver’s display. The car is equipped with modern conveniences such as wireless charging, a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, automatic climate control, a front armrest, rear AC vents, and adjustable thigh support for the rear seats. Additionally, Citroen has enhanced the cabin’s overall feel by introducing dual-tone finishes throughout the interior. For safety, the Basalt is well-equipped with six airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, and a tire pressure monitor.
Powertrain Options – Citroen Basalt
Unlike the C3 Aircross, the Citroen Basalt offers two engine choices. First, there’s the standard 1.2-litre petrol engine, which produces 82bhp and 155Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Additionally, the Basalt also comes with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. This turbocharged option delivers 109bhp and 190Nm of torque when paired with the manual transmission, and 205Nm of torque with the automatic transmission.
