Audi e-tron, powerful silent beast
Announcing that the future is here Audi launched its first electric suv in India named e-tron. It’s a bespoke model from scratch that promises a reliable driving range similar to a powerful petrol engine car.
It’s also designed to seat four adults and carry their luggage and if need be, take them places where the roads cease to exist. This e-tron gets two variants, 50 Quattro and 55 Quattro.
It gets power from 95 kWh lithium Ion battery which is placed under floor pan, this e-tron comes with 23 Phase induction motor placed at one motor each on front and rear axle. That motor produces 402 bhp of power and 664 NM of massive torque,
this e-tron is proper suv with AWD and also makes 0 to 100 KMPH in just 5.7 seconds! which e-tron is 2.5 ton heavy vehicle, thanks to the 50:50 weight distribution. So in performance it will never disappoint you and don’t feel like you are in a electric suv.
To charged this 95 kWh battery, this e-tron comes with 11kW compact charger which you can easily fit in your house or office and also charged your vehicle overnight and ready for next morning, to charge your suv faster Audi also gives 22kW AC optional charging system which cuts your charging time by half, when compared to 11kW AC charger.
But if you are on long trips and gets fully charged at no time, Audi thinks about it and gives us a 150kW DC supercharger at selected dealerships which allows you to charge 80% of your battery in just 30 minutes. In a fully charged it will goes above 300KM comfortably.
Length of the e-tron is 5014 mm , width is 1976 mm and height is 1686 mm. Wheelbase is 2928 mm, ground clearance is 200 mm which can be increased by air suspension.
At front we get big platinum grey single frame grill with front parking camera and parking sensors , that Audi’s matrix led headlights attracts you at your first look. We get headlamps washer
which is a great feature in its segment , this 55 Quattro runs on 20 inch dynamic style alloy wheel with orange brake callipers. To charge the vehicle there are two charging ports one for each side which is placed below the ORVM,
all the four doors gets request sensors with welcome function and soft door close function. The roof of the vehicle is insane with that fake roof rails and like itself a panoramic sunroof,
rear part of the e-tron is quite remember you Audi suv’s. The led connecting tail lamps looks great at night with also that dynamic swipe indicators.
Rear windscreen gets wiper washer with defogger, below the Audi logo there is parking camera and that electric switch to open its massive boot. The Audi 55 Quattro comes with 660 litres of boot space which
can easily increased by splitting the second row of the vehicle. To reduce the overall visual bulk, rear bumper comes with black treatment and also gets parking sensors on it. This e-tron get lots of air vents to increase the aerodynamic efficiency,
off course this electric vehicle is need to be more aero efficient to save energy. Overall body of the vehicle fits in all road conditions and also suits all weather conditions.
In the 55 Quattro we get dual tone interior with piano black finished in some parts of dashboard which is a big fat fingerprint magnet. Dashboard of the vehicle is finished in black soft plastic but lowered half gets scratchy hard plastic,
this dashboard and centre console is very familiar to the other Audi cars. So remembering this we get two touchscreen unit , one for infotainment and other for climate. This 10 inch touchscreen infotainment system comes with radio, media, navigation, car settings, charging status
and also all that android auto and apple car play. The second screen is smaller than this and gets air conditioning control with
engine start stop button below it. The gear liver is also similar to the other Audi cars with that P-R-N-D stuff. The Audi’s progressive steering wheel gets mounted controls with paddle to control the regeneration
of battery which we can increase or decrease as per your choice , every time you hits the brake e-tron regenerates power back into the battery. This actually converts kinetic energy into electric energy and work as generator, so that is why this paddle for.
The stocks and switches quality is very similar to some VW cars, that steering switches controls that Audi virtual cockpit with engine data, distance to empty, power consumption,
average speed, trip meter, TPM, navigation and other regular data. In the cabin we get lots of storage space with a sliding centre armrest, this Audi e-tron fits in between Q5 and Q7, so space inside the car is adequate and also sits
3 people in the second row comfortably, thanks to the three adjustable headrest and good amount of headroom and knee room. We don’t get any hump in the centre but gets a large air conditioning unit with AC vents and 2 USB’s as well.
Rear centre armrest equipped with two cup holders and tablet holders, this Audi is equipped with lots of features in it like, 750W 16 speakers sound system from Bang and Olufsen,
4 zone climate control, electric panoramic sunroof, puddle lamps with welcome function, soft doors closing, electric tailgate opening and closing with gesture control,
30 colours ambient lighting, twin spoke steering wheel, powered adjustable driver and co-driver seat with memory seat function, wireless charging pad, heads up display ,
automatic headlamps and automatic wipers, touch sensible reading lights and many more other tech. This new age suv comes with many advanced safety tech like, 8 airbags, ABS and EBD , brake assist, traction control, electronic stability program,
hill hold control, ride height adjustment, middle rear headrest, TPMS, isofix child seat anchor point, 7 drive modes , 360 degree parking camera

The price of the Audi e-tron starts from 99.99 lakhs to 1.16 crore (Ex-showroom). This electric suv compete with Mercedes Benz EQC, Jaguar I-pace and other ICE engines suv like Audi Q8,
Land Rover Discovery, Mercedes Benz GLS, Land Rover defender, Mercedes Benz GLE. In this Audi e-tron we get also a coupe version which is a e-tron Sportback , to get
this we have to pay more 2 lakhs. All the features and power output are common in both of these, difference is only that you get coupe either a suv . This is a lots of money and looking to its rival, because of its driving range, premium features, advanced safety tech and also Audi’s assurance. Audi e-tron is good option for you.
