Following its recent unveiling, the Citroen Basalt, a coupe SUV destined for both domestic and international markets, has been generating buzz. Expected to hit the market in the second half of 2024, this sleek model has already been spied testing incognito. Now, recent sightings reveal the Basalt sans camouflage, showcasing its striking design.
With its sloping roofline, raised stance, and notchback silhouette, the Citroen Basalt exudes elegance and modernity. Notable design features include a raked rear windscreen, wraparound LED taillamps, flip-style door handles, and squared-off wheel arches. Additionally, the introduction of a new brown exterior color adds further allure to Citroen’s palette.
While interior images of the Citroen Basalt are currently unavailable, it’s anticipated to inherit most features from the C3 Aircross, with additional tech enhancements. Expectations include a sizable touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity, digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, and ventilated front seats.
Moreover, to stay competitive, the Citroen Basalt is likely to offer a range of premium features like 360-degree surround camera, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, six airbags, front parking sensors, ambient lighting, and powered front-row seats. In terms of mechanics, it will share the same powertrain as the C3 Aircross, featuring a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with a six-speed manual and automatic torque converter unit, delivering 109bhp and 205Nm of torque.
