Kia Carens recalled, 30k units affected

Kia India has voluntary recalled of 39,297 units of the Carens MPV. The recall specifically applies to vehicles produced from September 2022 to February 2023, as these units may be equipped with a defective instrument cluster. Kia is taking this action to address the issue and ensure the safety and satisfaction of its customers. Although an official statement from Kia India is still pending, there are reports suggesting that the affected units of the Carens MPV may experience a problem where the 12.5-inch digital instrument cluster display becomes blank. However, it is believed that Kia will address this issue and provide the necessary repairs or replacements at no cost to the owners.

It is important to await the official confirmation and instructions from Kia regarding the recall process and necessary actions to be taken by the affected customers. In October 2022, Kia India had initiated a voluntary recall campaign to investigate a potential error in the Air Bag Control Module (ACU) software. Although the exact number of affected units was not disclosed by the automaker, Kia assured that any potential issues related to the ACU software would be rectified at no expense to the owners. This proactive step aimed to ensure the safety and reliability of the vehicles involved in the recall. It is advisable for affected customers to stay informed and follow any instructions or notifications provided by Kia regarding the recall process.
