Maruti Suzuki was recently caught testing two of its upcoming models in the country, the next-generation Swift and the new Dzire. Both the cars were seen undergoing high-altitude tests, indicating their upcoming launch in the coming months. The new Maruti Dzire is set to receive significant updates in terms of design, cabin features, and technology. From images captured during testing, it is clear that the model will sport a revised front fascia with a new grille, tweaked bumper, sleeker LED headlamp cluster, repositioned fog lamps, and a wider bonnet, hinting at a more modern and stylish look.
On the sidelines, the new Dzire is expected to offer a similar look, but with an emphasis on new features. Changes include a new design for the alloy wheels, as well as the addition of cameras installed on the ORVMs, which allows a 360-degree surround camera. Another improvement is the electrically adjustable sunroof, which enhances the sedan’s appeal and comfort. Moving on to the cabin, the facelift of the Dzire is likely to feature a redesigned interior, in line with Maruti’s modern design language seen in its recent models.
Expectations include a floating infotainment screen with smartphone capabilities, a redesigned centre console and HVAC panel, new air vents, a digitally enabled instrument cluster half price, wireless charging, automatic climate control, and upgraded seats. As of now, Maruti Suzuki has not disclosed any technical details about the new generation Swift or Dzire. Current models are powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, which has a option of factory fitted CNG device. Transmission options include a five-speed manual gearbox and automatic manual transmission (AMT).
