MG is set to launch an updated version of its Gloster SUV in India, this Toyota Fortuner rival is known for its impressive size and extensive features. Recently, the new MG Gloster was spotted testing, revealing its commanding road presence. While the current generation lacks a sporty and aggressive appeal, the upcoming Gloster is expected to adopt this more dynamic approach.
New MG Gloster, What Is Expected ?
The upcoming MG Gloster facelift is set to maintain its reputation for a luxurious interior and cutting-edge features. This updated version is expected to include a slightly redesigned dashboard, a new infotainment system, an updated instrument cluster, and a premium leather finish for the interior. It will continue to offer new age features such as ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree parking camera, automatic climate control, wireless charging, ambient lighting, captain seats in the second row, a powered tailgate, ADAS, and electrically adjustable driver and co-driver seats with memory function. In terms of design, the SUV is anticipated to receive styling upgrades like repositioned LED headlights and a refreshed grille, while retaining its squared wheel arches and large windows. The tailgate is expected to undergo significant changes, featuring twin exhaust tips, a wiper washer, and all-LED tail lamps.
Powertrain –
The MG Gloster facelift will continue to feature the powerful 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engine, delivering 214 hp and 478 Nm of torque. The current generation Gloster is available in both 4X4 and 4X2 variants, and the updated SUV will offer the same options. The 2024 Gloster is expected to be slightly longer and wider than its predecessor, potentially making it larger than the Toyota Fortuner.
Gloster Facelift – Launch Timeline
Recently, MG introduced the Snowstorm and Blackstorm editions of the Gloster in India. Although the company has not officially announced the launch date for the Gloster facelift, it is anticipated to debut during the upcoming festive season. Currently, the MG Gloster is priced between Rs 38.79 lakh and Rs 43.86 lakh (ex-showroom). With the facelift, we can expect a significant increase in the prices due to the new features and updates.
