The MG Hector Blackstorm has made its debut in India, with a starting price of Rs. 21.24 lakh (ex-showroom). Derived from the top-spec Sharp Pro variants, this model is available with both petrol and diesel engines, catering to both the Hector and Hector Plus lineups. Just like the Astor Blackstorm and the Gloster Blackstorm, it sports an all-black exterior paint scheme accented with striking red details on the bumpers and brake callipers.
Inside, MG Hector Blackstorm has adorned the cabin with a stylish sangria and black theme, featuring a range of amenities such as the 14-inch portrait-style touchscreen system, climate control with rear AC vents, power driver’s seat, Level 2 ADAS, digital instrument cluster, and a comprehensive full LED light package.

The Hector and Hector Plus Blackstorm Editions are available with either 1.5-litre petrol engine or a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine delivers 141bhp/250Nm of power and is paired with a choice of a six-speed manual or a CVT transmission. Meanwhile, the diesel engine generates 168bhp/350Nm of torque and is only offered with a six-speed manual transmission.

These models join a growing lineup of special SUVs in this segment, each following a similar formula. This approach involves taking a fully equipped model and enhancing its appeal with a unique paint scheme to make it more distinctive. Notable examples include the Kia Seltos X-Line, Hyundai Creta N Line, Tata Harrier Dark, MG Astor Blackstorm, Volkswagen Taigun GT Line, and the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo.
