BMW is set to unveil the new 5 Series long wheel base in India on July 24. For the first time, BMW 5 Series will offer in a long wheelbase format in India. India will be the second market, following China, to receive the 5 Series LWB. This version is designed to compete directly with the E-Class LWB. While the new 5 Series LWB maintains the same appearance as the standard model, its extended length is easily noticeable, much like the 3 Series Grand Limousine available in India.
BMW 5 Series LWB Specifications –
The latest-generation BMW 5 Series LWB has dimensions of 5,175mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,520mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,105mm. Compared to the regular 5 Series sedan, it is 145mm longer overall, with 110mm of that extra length, thanks to the extended wheelbase.
This marks the second LWB sedan for BMW in India, following the introduction of the popular 3 Series Grand Limousine a few years ago. The new 5 Series LWB will enter into competition with the all-new E-Class LWB, which is also anticipated to hit the market later this year.
BMW 5 Series LWB Features and Highlights –
Inside the new-gen 5 Series, customers will get a range of modern features, like 12.3-inch fully digital driver’s console and a 14.9-inch freestanding touchscreen system. Passengers in the rear will enjoy reclining seats, four-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, there will be a foldable 31.1-inch display for second-row occupants. Under the hood, the upcoming 5 Series is anticipated to be powered by 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engines equipped with a mild-hybrid system. These engines will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission available across the range.
