Hyundai has launched the 2025 Tucson in the USA, introducing several updates. Hyundai Tucson now sports a slightly revised front fascia and a redesigned interior. Additionally, it offers various powertrain options with a plug-in-hybrid units. Starting prices for the 2025 Tucson in the USA begin at $29,750 (Rs 24.87 lakhs).
Hyundai Tucson Interior Updates –
The new Hyundai Tucson has received significant interior upgrades. Now, it features a large curved display that includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screen. The center console has also been refreshed, boasting physical knobs for audio and media controls, a gear knob, an electronic parking brake, a wireless charger, and automatic climate control switches. Additionally, the 2025 Tucson offers a range of features such as an ADAS suite, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, driving modes, a 360-degree parking camera, adaptive cruise control, a wireless charger, an electric tailgate, and OTA car connectivity.
Hyundai Tucson Design Highlights –
The upgraded Tucson in the USA closely resembles the Indian variant. It features a dark chrome grille with integrated LED daytime running lights and an ADAS sensor placed below the grille. The SUV rides on refreshed alloy wheels and showcases sharp lines on its side body for a sporty look. At the rear, the tailgate boasts infinity running brake lights, a high-mounted stop lamp, and a hidden wiper washer. Overall, the design is nearly identical to the Indian version, incorporating numerous sporty elements.
Hyundai Tucson Powertrain Options –
In USA, Hyundai offers 3 powertrain choices for Tucson SUV. There is a 2.5 litre petrol engine which churns out 187hp and mated to an eight speed automatic transmission. This 2.5 litre engine is standard in all ICE powered Tucson. But, there are also plug in hybrid variants in 2025 Tucson. Tucson plug-in-hybrid is powered by a 1.6 litre turbo petrol engine capable of producing combined 231 hp. Thanks to the 47.7kW electric motor with a 1.49kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This 1.6 litre petrol engine is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. There is also one more variant in plug in hybrid, it is powered by the same petrol engine but combined with bigger battery pack of 72kW electric motor and 13.8kWh battery pack. This unit overall capable of producing 268 horsepower. All plug-in-hybrid variants of Hyundai Tucson are AWD with driving modes like Normal, Sport, Snow and a new customisable mode where we can select a appropriate mode as per our use like baby mode for quite and smooth driving experience.
Hyundai Tucson 2025 India Launch ?
While the automaker hasn’t released any official statement regarding the launch of the updated Tucson in India, we anticipate its arrival next year in FY 25-26. Currently, the Hyundai Tucson in India is priced between Rs 29.1 lakhs and Rs 35.94 lakhs (ex-showroom). In the Indian market, the Tucson faces competition from models like the Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircross, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, and Toyota Fortuner.
