Global NCAP’s recent crash test results included assessments of models like the Mahindra Bolero Neo, Kia Carens, and the Honda Amaze. The Kia Carens, previously tested in June 2022 and scoring three stars, underwent new tests following updated protocols.

In the first test under the new guidelines, the Kia Carens initially scored zero stars due to high impact on the neck, prompting Kia to improve the restraint systems. This upgrade led to a retest, resulting in an improved three-star rating. This demonstrates the importance of ongoing assessments and manufacturers’ commitment to safety enhancements.
In the latest set of crash tests, the Kia Carens received a score of 22.07 out of 34 points for adult occupant protection, while it achieved 41 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. These scores translated into three stars for adult safety and five stars for child safety.
However, the Carens had an unstable bodyshell, limiting its ability to handle further impacts. Despite this, the SUV comes equipped with a range of safety features as standard, such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt pre-tensioners and load limiters, a seat-belt reminder system, electronic stability control (ESC), and ISOFIX child-seat anchorage points. These safety measures contribute to enhancing the overall safety of the car.
