Maruti Suzuki has officially opened bookings for the all-new Swift, which can be secured with a booking amount of Rs 11,000. The anticipated launch date of new Maruti Suzuki Swift is set for 9 May, marking the debut of the fourth-generation hatchback in India. This latest iteration is expected to come equipped with both petrol and CNG powertrain options.

The new Swift was first unveiled in Japan last year and features an evolution in design compared to its predecessor. Key exterior upgrades include fresh LED headlamps, redesigned wheels, and updated LED taillamps. Additionally, the door handles have been moved from the C-pillar back to the doors, offering a more traditional and familiar aesthetic.

The fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift for the Indian market is anticipated to maintain the familiar K12C 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. This engine produces 88bhp and 113Nm of torque in its standard form and can be paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automated manual transmission. For those interested in a CNG option, the engine delivers 78bhp and 98Nm of torque and is available exclusively with a five-speed manual gearbox.
In terms of pricing, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to fall within the Rs. 6.5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh bracket, providing customers with a wide range of options. The Swift will compete against various models such as the Renault Triber, Maruti Wagon R, Maruti Celerio, Tata Punch, and Hyundai Exter. Its most direct competitor remains the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, continuing the long-standing rivalry between the two models that has spanned over multiple generations in the past 17 years.
