Porsche has expanded its Macan EV lineup in India with two new variants, starting at Rs 1.23 crore. Previously, the Porsche Macan EV was only available in the Turbo trim, but now automaker has introduced two new variants – Macan EV RWD and Macan 4S. The entry level variant of Porsche is now priced at 1.23 crore, which comes with a RWD setup. The mid trim, Macan 4S is offered with dual motor setup and capable for off-roading, priced at Rs 1.39 crore. Top spec of Macan EV which is Turbo variant has now seen a price increase from Rs 1.65 crore to Rs 1.69 crore.
Porsche Macan EV Battery Pack –
Macan electric features a 100kWh lithium ion battery pack which is similar in all variants of Macan EV. Meanwhile, the driving range of all these variants are different. The entry level variant now offers 641 km of range, thanks to the RWD setup. Furthermore, the mid spec Macan 4S EV is capable to offer 606 km range in single charge and the top most variant, Macan Turbo EV offers 591 Km of range.
Porsche Macan EV Updates Explained –
Well, the biggest update in the new Macan EV is in its powertrain. Now, entry level variant of Macan EV features a single motor which is mounted on rear axle which makes this car first RWD Porsche. This motor is capable to generate 360hp and 563NM of torque. It can sprint from 0 to 100 k/ph in just 5.7 seconds, basically this setup is all meant for battery efficiency and maximum driving range.
But there is also one more variant of Macan EV which is meant for off-road and dynamic performance. The mid-level variant 4S EV now gets an update, this variant features two electric motors, capable of producing 516hp and 820Nm of max torque. This variant has a top speed of 240 k/ph and sprints 0 to 100 k/ph in just 4.1 seconds, thanks to the launch control feature. This variant of Macan Ev is also equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) which is basically a electronic damping control, helps to handle the body weight of car on hardcore off-road tracks.
Now, Macan EV can be charged from a DC charging unit of capacity up to 270kW. This enables, Macan EV to charge 10 to 80% in just 21 minutes. Porsche also introduced a new colour shade Slate Grey Neo with on option of 20 inch Macan S alloy wheels. Furthermore, a new off-road design package is available for all three variants.Â
