During the recent announcement by Skoda India about its new sub-four-metre segment model, anticipation grew. Shortly after, the model was observed undergoing testing in heavy traffic conditions. Now, it has been spotted again during a test run, revealing several key details, especially regarding its design elements. The compact SUV from Skoda will inherit the DNA of the Kushaq, as it is built on the MQB A0-IN platform. At the front, the SUV will feature a similar grille design, accompanied by LED DRLs, split LED headlamps, a broader grille, and a squared front bumper.
Towards the rear, the SUV’s design will draw inspiration from its larger sibling, featuring a flat rear profile, an extended roof spoiler with an integrated stop lamp, a shark fin antenna, and roof rails. Additionally, the LED taillights will receive a new treatment, featuring an L-shaped pattern.
In terms of its mechanical configuration, it will solely be equipped with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, capable of generating 114bhp and 178Nm of peak torque. This engine will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission and an automatic torque converter unit.
Set to be launched in Q1 of 2025, Skoda’s sub-four metre SUV will face competition from the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV3X0, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Nissan Magnite in the segment.
