Mercedes has introduced the AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet, a performance-oriented drop-top convertible designed to compete with the BMW M440i. In terms of styling, the Cabriolet features flared front-wheel arches for a wider front track, an AMG-specific front grille, and redesigned front and rear bumpers. Additional features include larger air intakes, quad exhausts, and new alloy wheel designs available in either 19-inch or 20-inch sizes. These upgrades enhance the vehicle’s sporty appearance and performance capabilities.

Mercedes’ latest AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet features a mild-hybrid powertrain, adding to the line-up of models such as the A 45, C 43, and GT 53 4-Door Coupé. It utilizes a ‘M256’ 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six engine with a 48V starter-generator, offering an output of 449hp and 560Nm of torque. The Overboost function can temporarily increase torque to 600Nm for 10-second bursts when needed.Â

The Cabriolet accelerates from 0 to 100kph in just 4.4 seconds, surpassing the BMW M440i and Ford Mustang GT in speed. Its top speed is electronically limited to 250kph, which can be increased to 270kph with an optional AMG performance package. Power is efficiently distributed through a torque-vectoring four-wheel-drive system and a nine-speed gearbox, ensuring a dynamic and smooth driving experience.
