Volkswagen has introduced the Taigun GT Line and GT Plus Sport in India, priced at ex-showroom rates of Rs. 14.08 lakh and Rs. 18.53 lakh, respectively. These black Sport-themed editions of the SUV are part of the recently launched ‘Sport’ line structure.

The GT Plus features a carbon steel grey roof and distinctive red ‘GT’ branding on the front grille, fender, and tailgate, while the GT Line sports black branding on these elements. Both editions come with 17-inch ‘Cassino’ black alloy wheels, with the GT Plus featuring red front callipers. Inside, the SUV comes with a black leatherette upholstery, with grey stitching for the Taigun GT Line and red stitching for the GT Plus. The GT Plus also includes red GT logos, aluminium pedals, and an introductory offer of a complimentary four-year Service Value Package (SVP).

The VW Taigun Sport GT Line comes equipped with a 1.0-liter TSI engine that delivers 114bhp and 178Nm of torque, providing a spirited driving experience. This variant is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, with an optional six-speed automatic transmission available for those seeking added convenience.
On the other hand, the GT Plus variant is fitted with a more robust 1.5- litre TSI petrol engine that generates 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. Like the GT Line, it comes with a six-speed manual transmission as standard. However, those looking for a more dynamic driving experience can opt for the seven-speed twin-clutch DSG for smooth and quick gear shifts. This array of powertrain options ensures that both variants offer a driving style tailored to individual preferences.
