Tata Tigor EV, Most Adorable EV in India
Launching India’s first EV, Tata debut in this electric platform. Taking advantage of this Tata launched its Tigor EV in India and now the result is Tata has is two electric vehicle in its lineup. This Tigor EV built on Tata’s ziptron architecture which the Nexon EV also made on this. The increasing prices of fuels and high running cost switches lots of people to electric, taking this trump card Tata unveiled its new compact sedan Tigor EV.
This Tigor EV is easy to drive, practical for your everyday home-office-home commutes. The Tigor EV offers in 4 variants- XE, XM, XZ, XZ Plus Dual tone. This EV is powered by 26 kWh liquid cooled lithium ion battery which powers its front-axle mounted electric motor that produces 74bhp (55kW) and 170Nm. Because this is electric vehicle we don’t get any type of gears, you only get D,R,N,P and sports mode.
This battery is IP67 certified which makes it dust proof and waterproof, claimed range of Tigor EV is 306 KM. But in on road it will go above 200KM easily. To charge this EV we get two options from Tata, any 15Amp socket which is in your home or office can charge the vehicle in 9 hours easily.
But to make it faster we also have option of 25kW CC2 fast charger which charges the vehicle 0 to 80% in just 45 minutes. Performance is adequate you can easily go triple digits numbers in D mode without any hesitation, this D mode is convenient for city driving where you can glide the vehicle smoothly and hassle free through traffic. But for some one who wants to made quick overtake we have Sports mode in this EV, where the performance changes immediately and you can vanish at no time.
Starting from the front we get revised bumper with humanity line running across the width of the face, front grill is very small thanks to the tri arrow treatment which is there too. Headlamps gets projectors with halogen indicators, fog lamps and led DRL also.
The vehicle runs on 14 inch steel wheels with blue inserts wheel cap, because of the massive weight of the vehicle we get 14 inches with bigger side wall. The door handles and window line gets chrome finishing with request sensors on driver side handle, orvm gets indicators with retractable function also. Tail of the vehicle doesn’t change only gets some extra badging there, taillights gets led brake lights with halogen indicators and reverse lamps.
The rear windscreen comes with high mounted stop lamp and defogger which is a nice touch, parking camera is nicely camouflaged under the chrome slab which is connecting the taillights. To match the front and rear of the vehicle we gets humanity line on the rear bumper too,
design of the vehicle don’t change as much as we accept but vehicle looks super cool and sharper, thanks to the lots of cuts and crises on the body. The vehicles battery is placed below the boot, because of this we get spare wheel on the boot eating 59 litres of boot space and now the result is we get 316 litres of boot.
Inside this Tigor EV we get dual tone interior with blue accents there too, the dashboard design is very similar to regular Tigor. There are also blue inserts and tri arrow star treatment on seats and AC vents in this Tigor EV, on the dashboard we gat 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with android auto and apple car play.
In this infotainment system we get navigation, radio, reverse parking camera, vehicle settings, battery status and more. Below this infotainment system we get air conditioning control with usb and charging ports also. Now the gear liver goes and new dial comes in the frame,
we get lots of storage space in centre console. The steering wheel is flat bottom with height adjustable function, comes with mounted audio controls also.
The attention to detail is that LCD digital instrument cluster which gets trip data, speedometer, tachometer, battery status and more. The second row of the vehicle is quite spacious and gets ample amount of legroom and headroom,
tall passenger bit suffers difficulty but Tata made a decent jobs in second row. In features it gets 4 speakers Harmon Kardon speakers with 4 tweeters, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVM, automatic air conditioning, digital instrument cluster,
engine start stop button, projector headlamps with led drl, height adjustable driver seat, smart key with keyless entry, power windows, cooled glove box and more. Like in safety Tata Tigor EV comes with 2 airbags, ABS and EBD,
hill hold control, hill descent control, seat belt warning, over speed warning. And because of all this Tata Tigor EV scores 4 stars in Global NCAP. This Tigor gets three colours options.
The Tata Tigor EV also comes with connected car tech which gets vehicle data, trip details, vehicle tracking, service information, diagnosis report and many more.
In 2018 Tata gets tender from government of 10,000 EV vehicle for government use, for this Tata also have its fleet versions of Tigor EV. This version don’t gets projector headlamps, steel wheels.

The price of Tata Tigor EV starts from 11.99l to 13.14l (Ex-showroom) Delhi. At this price range it will rival Tata Nexon, MG ZS EV , Hyundai Kona electric, Tata Tigor, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos , Tata Harrier, Skoda Kushaq.
This is bit on expensive side but looking to its performance and Tata’s reliability this Tata Tigor EV is good options for you .
