Ventilated seats – A Boon For Indian Climate

  • By Sohan Ingole

Introduction-

India is massive country with a population over one thirty five crore, this is a huge number and that’s a major cause for pollution with also for increasing numbers of temperature in country. In India most of the regions are boiling hot, not in summer but also in all seasons. And travelling in these heat waves is real struggle for car drivers with for passengers also.

In between all these Indian Automobile manufacturers takes a premium feature in budget cars for this which can help in these sunny situations. The seats are ventilated by air conditioning, as simple as that. Yes, this named as Ventilated seats. We have seen this feature in lots of premium cars and limos, in early 20’s most of the American cars is loaded with this features but as time goes this premium feature is not premium any more.
The born of this crazy tech was founded in 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood, but it only offered the option of heating the seats, not cooling them. In fact, that took more than two decades, with the 1998 Saab 9-5 being the first car ever to be fitted with ventilated seats.

So working of this feature is very interesting, the seats which are used to be seat on has small pores and when we start cooling, the air waves passes through that pores and our back never sweats like a piggy. So we can’t use additionally seat covers for these seats, cause that will block the air circulation. Well this awesome tech has two options or offered in 2 ways. First one is ventilated seats with cooling function, this is the most known or used tech in cars. In the world lots of countries belongs to hot regions, so seats with cooling function are consumers need nowadays.

Second is ventilated seats with heating function, heated seats are the only feature which is offered in only cold regions. UK or USA has almost all the land covered in snow for 5 to 6 months in a year. And thats where we want heated seats where temperature is below -5 degrees. But countries like India or in Asia, we barely found a land which has temperature below 10 degrees. Cause heated seats are not useful here or anywhere which has pleasant temperature.
In India now lots of budget cars are coming with this Ventilated seats , we found 6 pocket friendly cars which gots this cool feature.
