Hyundai Venue vs Maruti Brezza – Comparison

Introduction

Lots of space and high ground clearance are some specifications of suv, well Indian consumers choice is bit different here. Most of the people search for a suv with length of under 4 meters, ample amount of space and high ground clearance. And that’s why India’s two big automobile manufacturers launched their facelift’s recently.

Hyundai launched its revised Venue and Maruti Suzuki launched updated Brezza. Well both of the suv’s selling in a similar segment which is a compact suv and has a length under four meters. Both of theme have some ups and down, today we will find out which one is better for a budget of under 15 lakhs. We published a detailed review on Hyundai Venue and Maruti Brezza, you will find these articles below this page.

Design-

Hyundai Venue :

Length-3995mm
Width-1770mm
Height-1617mm
Wheelbase-2500mm
Ground Clearance-195mm
This new Venue is a facelift and its exterior design is bit similar to older one, we got a new revised chrome grill upfront with a led projector headlamps and new bumper. Vehicle runs on 16 inch diamond cut alloys which is fresh here. Will see black body cladding and chrome door handles which gives it a stylish appeal.

Tailgate is updated here and we have connecting taillights which are led’s. Taillights looks stunning and we also got some chrome work done there. Exterior design of this compact suv is more or less the same than the earlier version, still extra added chrome work will definitely differentiate between those two cars.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza :

Length-3995mm
Width-1790mm
Height-1685mm
Wheelbase-2500mm
Ground Clearance-190mm
This is a next gen of Brezza and not a facelift so that’s why Maruti changed a design of this suv and we got completely new design language now. Front gets new chrome plated grill with twin projector led headlights and led fog lamps as well. The headlights looks very premium and sleek here. Bumper gets bull bar treatment with a continuously running black cladding which runs through all car.

We get 16 inch dual tone alloys with front disc brakes. That cladding gives a rigid look to the suv and it looks more appealing. In dual tone paint, we will get black coloured roof and glossy black finished outside mirrors. Tailgate is revised and we have sleek led brake lamps with smoke treatment used inside the taillights. We have boldly written Brezza centre of the tailgate and attracts everyone. Design of this 2nd generation Maruti Suzuki Brezza looks more attractive now than earlier one, previous vehicle doesn’t look premium and somehow it has bulky overlook. But Maruti worked on design of the car and that’s why the Brezza looks more stunning and premium as well.

Venue x Brezza – personally I loved Brezza in terms of design language, which is more appealing and looks like massive suv. Venue has a new age design but missed out that rigged look.

Engine and Performance –

Hyundai Venue :

This 2022 Venue is available across 16 variants and 6 trims, 3 engine and 4 transmission options are the main reason for 16 variants of this Venue.

In this facelift we have 3 engines options- 1.2L NA Kappa petrol motor produces 82bhp and 113Nm, 1.5L U2 CRDi diesel motor produces 99bhp and 240Nm and last one is the 1.0L kappa Turbo GDi petrol motor produces 118bhp and 172Nm. Hyundai claimed that we will get 18 kmpl fuel economy, but in real world this Venue will give us fuel efficiency between 9 to 14 kmpl. Cause this is the petrol motor, it loves to drink fuel.

This 1.0 litre turbo motor has a ample performance, not sporty yet. initial turbo lack kicked in and that’s why low end torque is missing here. We can’t get that punchy start from this turbo motor. Still it is convenient to use in city drives where most of the time we are facing traffic jams on roads, this vehicle is easy to handle and manoeuvrability is outstanding. New drivers can easily drive this suv.

Maruti Brezza :

New Brezza is available across 13 variants and 4 trims, Under its clamshell hood we have 1.5 litre K15 CC naturally aspirated motor which has now dual jet per cylinder for better fuel efficiency.

The engine unit is unchanged here and we got the same mild hybrid system which is very much eco friendly and tries to improve fuel economy, this battery charged with regeneration braking automatically and works flawlessly well. This 1.5 litre NA unit, it goes 0 to 100 in 12.8 seconds which is not really brisk but makes the job done. It produces 102bhp of power with redlines at 6000Rpm and 136.8Nm of torque with redlines at 3800Rpm, the result is we got linear performance from this naturally aspirated motor.

This engine unit is mated to a 6 speed torque converter gearbox, we can also opt for 6 speed manual. Brezza has a ample performance with a super calm motor, this is not a enthusiastic car end of the day or we can say, this is not a performance suv. This is a compact suv which can be run on bad patches and also in city drives where it’s great manoeuvrability and compact size helps you in stop go traffic.

Venue x Brezza – Well Hyundai gives us lots of options in powertrains where we have petrol NA, Diesel and also got turbo motor which we missed out in Brezza. Maruti is still offering us that NA engine with a mild hybrid tech, now we want turbocharged or Diesel engine from Maruti. And Venue also got driving modes which is missing in Brezza.

Interior-

Hyundai Venue :

Inside this new Venue, we will see dual tone interior layout with black coloured dashboard which remains unchanged.

On its clean dash we have a 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system placed very cleanly between two rectangular AC vents. Centre console is packed with wireless charging pad, one gear liver, drive mode selector and two cup holders connecting a front centre armrest which is also slide able unit. That drive mode selector is placed right near the cup holders.

The steering wheel is now updated and we have Creta’s D-Cut dynamic steering wheel which looks value for money now. This steering wheel got mounted controls, paddle shifters and also adjustable. The steering mounted controls operate that new digital instrument cluster with MID, this digital instrument cluster unit is very much similar to Kia Carens and looks stunning as well. The front seats are same as before in comfort but now the driver seat is 4 way powered adjust which is a cool thing and first in the segment feature. Coming to the rear row, we have two height adjustable headrest with one centre armrest which gets two cup holders as well.

The headroom is great here but the legroom and under thighs support is ample but still make the job done for most of the time. Cabin is very much airy and feels roomy, thanks to the sunroof and big rectangular windows.

Maruti Brezza :

Inside this new Brezza we will see completely changed interior and dashboard layout with lots of new features added.

We got dual tone interior with some aluminium inserts over there on door pads and dashboard. The dashboard design is revised here but looks more appealing now. At the centre of the dash we have a 9 inch touchscreen infotainment system which Maruti named it smart play pro. Centre console is equipped with wireless charging pad, usb charging ports, gear liver, two cup holders and one centre armrest with small space inside it.

The steering wheel is flat bottom and we have mounted controls on it. The instrument cluster is basic unit where we will see two rotary dials with a 4 inch digital MID placed at the centre of the dials. Above that instrument cluster we will see HUD (heads up display), this is a small screen pops out and there is a projector which projects lots of data on this small screen. The front seats are comfortable enough for long rides and Maruti improved the cushioning and side bolstering which is a nice thing.

Like that second row is quite spacious, we have two headrest and a centre armrest there. The cabin feels very much premium now, thanks to the dual tone interior and ambient lighting. The air flow is also great inside the cabin, now we have electric sunroof in this 2nd generation Brezza. This is a first time in the history of Maruti Suzuki where the car gets a sunroof. Kudos to Maruti Suzuki for interior design of this new Brezza, now the interior is appealing and looks stunning as well.

Brezza x Venue – Both of these SUV’s have loaded cabin with lots of tech and features and a sunroof also. Hyundai Venue has great quality of cabin and seats where the Brezza has good amount of legroom and headroom with a head up display as well.

Features and Tech-

Maruti Brezza :

Maruti goes beyond its limits and filled this car with tons of features and tech like, heads up display, 360 degree parking camera, electric sunroof, ambient lighting,

arkamys premium speakers sound system, automatic climate control, front centre armrest, wireless charging pad, automatic headlights, rear seat AC vents and more.

Hyundai Venue :

In this 2022 Hyundai Venue we will see lots of features and new age tech like 4 way powered driver seat, air purifier, digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, electric sunroof,

wireless charging pad, cooled glove box, smart key, start engine stop button, Blue Link with 60+ features, led headlights, puddle lamp, rear AC vents and many other things.

Verdict-

Price of Hyundai Venue starts from 7.53L and goes till 12.47L (Ex-showroom Delhi). And price of 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza starts from 7.98L to 13.95L (Ex-showroom Delhi). Well both of these suv’s compete with Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Creta, Toyota urban cruiser, Hyundai i20, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Citroen C3, Tata Punch.

Now we seen these compact suv’s deeply and we found both of them great. In Hyundai Venue we will see a great numbers of powertrain options with a turbo as well which is missing in Brezza. But Maruti offers us a mild hybrid in Brezza. In terms of comfort and quality, Venue has two way reclinable rear seats which is not available in Brezza. But Maruti given us a great headroom in Brezza which is best in segment. In the pricing we found Maruti Brezza bit costlier than Hyundai Venue.

Because of some added tech like HUD, Sunroof, all led headlights Maruti priced this suv bit on higher side. Still we found Venue more value for money than Brezza and Hyundai is also offering us its N-Line variant in coming months with some added cosmetic changes. ( Conclusion of this Comparison is our way of thinking, it might be changed as per the customers requirement ).
